Roots is the transliteration of the English word "Roots." In fact, the Roots blower is a type of equipment designed and manufactured based on the Roots principle. It is a positive displacement blower with forced air delivery characteristics. The inventors of the Roots principle are the Roots brothers from the United States: the elder brother, Philander Roots, and the younger brother, Francis Roots.To commemorate this invention, the principle was named after them. When the fan is used for positive pressure air supply, it is called a Roots blower; if used for negative pressure suction, it is called a Roots pump.
