What is the difference between an axial fan and a centrifugal fan?

Time:2018.05.18 Hits:8309

  Differences between centrifugal fans and axial fans:

  1. A centrifugal fan is a machine that relies on input mechanical energy to increase gas pressure and discharge gas. It is a type of driven fluid machinery. Centrifugal fans are widely used in:
  ① Ventilation, dust removal, and cooling in factories, mines, tunnels, cooling towers, vehicles, ships, and buildings;
  ② Ventilation and induced draft for boilers and industrial furnaces.
  ③Cooling and ventilation in air conditioning equipment and household electrical appliances.
  ④ Drying and sorting of grains;

  ⑤ Wind tunnel wind source and inflation and propulsion of hovercraft.

  2. Axial fan refers to the airflow in the same direction as the axis of the fan blades, such as electric fans and outdoor unit fans of air conditioners, which operate in an axial flow mode. It is called "axial flow" because the gas flows parallel to the fan axis. Axial fans are typically used in applications where high flow rates are required but with relatively low pressure demands.
  Features:
  Small axial flow fan: low power consumption, fast heat dissipation, low noise, energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
  Large axial flow fan: characterized by simple structure, sturdy reliability, low noise, high air volume, and a wide range of function options.
